The Madonna is depicted on the front of the capital under a building supported by two columns, full-figure, pregnant, with a rose in her hand; on the arch is the inscription SCA. MA RIA (Sancta Maria = Holy Mary); on the right, Elizabeth is seated on a stool with a cloth in her hand; on the arch above is the inscription ELIZA.BET (Elisabeth = Elizabeth).On the right, Anna, mother of Mary, holds her right hand on the shoulder of her little daughter, who has a rose in her hand. On the right is a man in priestly robes. On the arch we read: VIRGINES (Virgines = Virgin) – MAGI ST[ER].T[E]NPL[I] (Magister Templi = Master of the Temple).Work by Benedetto Antelami and workshop.
