Genoa, Museum of St. Augustine: Fragment of portal jamb, by Lombard sculptor, early 11th century. It is the work bya Como sculptor, and even the marble comes from the quarries of those areas. Stylistically, it meets the criteria of a Lombard Romanesque who is not yet too advanced, but still attests to the presence of Lombard sculptors in the city. It comes from St. Lawrence Cathedral, of which it could provide evidence of a restoration in the second half of the year 1000, prior therefore to the reconstruction of the building in more grandiose forms which led to its solemn consecration in 1118.
