Schifanoia Palace, east wall, month of May: above is the "Triumph of Apollo" whose chariot is driven by Aurora and is pulled by horses while the divinity placed to protect the sign of Gemini holds the sun in her hand. On the right, in the upper portion, the Muses are depicted while under them there are several children. On the left, various humanists can be seen intent on discussing.At the centre “The sign of Gemini” with the figures of Apollo and Hercules (which the astrologer Ptolemy made coincide with the stars of Castor and Pollux); on the left and right the two decans (two decades): the charioteer and the archer.Below there are remains of scenes of rural life.Fresco by Francesco del Cossa (1468-1470).
